For our friends and partners on their way up north (or down south!) we found a location to recover from travelling ! Nearby Sollefteå - one daytrip north after leaving the ferry from f. ex. Travemuende - HÖVEN RESELE provides accommodation for travelling mushers & dogs! The guesthouse of this eco-farm will be heated when you arrive, stakeout system for 20 dogs will be prepared. Hot water and straw is available. No neighbours will be offended by howling dogs. You can take a shower, sleep in a good bed before you continue your trip. You have to book at least three days in advance. Two hours before arrival you have to call Kerstin (your host) and she will start to prepare your dinner:
Potatoes, vegetables and - most important - a real big piece of meat (everything from own production) + 2 cans of beer (3,5%) will be served to you after you'll have fed your dogs. Next morning you'll get a good Swedish farmer-breakfast and you can refill your vacuumbottle for the day before you'll hit the road again.
Price for the complete package is SEK 1200,00 for max. two persons (Your handler will appreciate ;-), optional persons pay SEK 400/each.
PS: To extend your stay for a training-trip on the river Ångermanälven you should inquire actual snow/ice conditions by calling Kerstin!
